Both (E)- and (Z)-isomers (involving the S=N double bond and the cyano group) exist, but they rapidly interconvert at ambient temperatures. The bonding number of the sulfur atom is 6, but CAS uses additive nomenclature for the O= attached to the sulfur, and so the superscript to lambda is 4 in the CAS name. |
